Liquid nails is cheap and easy if you are not doing an OEM restoration. I spent $35 on a can of seam sealer and it flaked off, the liquid nails is permanent.

When dry, it's not flexable right? I should have asked before heading to the Auto Body and Paint store! Thanks

I've been hand sanding the trunk area for a week and I have discovered I DON'T LIKE SANDING! I don't know if I will survive this part of the project, I'd rather be working on the Rear Spring Hanger installation. I may come back to address the trunk later.

Drilling the Rear Spring Hanger holes to 1 1/8" is not going to be easy. No room between the spare tire well and the inside frame rail, I am only able to drill from the outside-in just fit between the lower quarter panel to frame rail. I rented an Angle Drill from my local TrueValue Hardware Store and I found my new Best Friend! A Monster Step Drill Bit!

Its very easy to open the outboard side with the step drill bit but you have to remember to stop at the correct diameter Once I had the outboard hole done, I used a Die Grinder through the outboard hole to enlarge the inboard side of the frame rail to fit the shackle bushing. Is it me or does Murphy visit everyone? The inboard frame rail is double thick! So much fun as you grind to be showered by Hot Sharp metal slivers! OH THE JOY

The rear shackle tubes burned in and moving on to the narrowed diff assembly. I need to mock up the spring pad placement and set the installed pinion angle. I need to find out what pinion angle is best for my set-up. Should I try for the stock degree angle or maybe a little down from stock angle? I'm installing new Mopar SuperStock springs from Mancini Racing.

Mocked up, adjusted pinion angle and measured 20 times. Henry and I both gave it the thumbs up and I tack welded the spring perches on. Now to disassemble it once more for final burning in of the perches and sand blasting/cleaning and painting.

I am ready to take it to Henry's and use his MillerMatic 180 My Lincoln ProMig might do a good job but it would be at it's amperage limit and I don't want to chance it, besides sand blasting is messy and I would rather mess his shop up than mine
