Thanks guys, I too hope to see it in person soon;) lol

I do wish he would have separated the pipes aft of the "X" a bit.
If it causes trouble, it can be adjusted and the mufflers are serviceable without cutting anything.

its easy to flare the ends for rubber fuel lines with a brake line flare tool.

Patience when bending the lines is very helpful.
I was able to remove the exhaust from the muffler back on the right side to ease the fitting the fuel tube.

these clamps work great with self tapping screws to hold the tube secure. I'm sure they will help prevent the tube from springing a leak later and maybe keep things quieter too.

I think these custom mufflers might be a bit loud. They are chambered but not much.
I hope to get it running soon and hear them.

Looking good, Copper Dart!

I was just curious, when you undercoated the new fuel tank, did you wipe off the factory zinc coating first? I just bought a new fuel tank for my 69 Satellite wagon and I'm interested in undercoating the top of the tank and clearing the bottom of the tank, but its covered in that zinc coating that they use at the factory and I'm not sure what to remove it with...

Thanks,
To answer your question, I'm not sure you can just wipe off a Zinc coating. I think it's more like a melted coating on the metal kinda like galvanizing or solder.
I washed the upper tank surface with a cleaner (acetone) and lightly scotchbrited it before coating.
I haven't considered clear coating the underside. Might just do it too, good idea.
Thanks

Yeah, I wasn't sure what verb to use "wipe" off, "clean" off, I wasn't sure because I've never owned a gas tank new enough to need this done to it before.

Do you remember what kind of cleaner you used? I was considering trying out some acetone and a rag and scotchbrite. I want to protect the tank as much as I can on top while keeping it "new" looking on the bottom.

sorry for the long delay in updating the build.
life has a way of creating roadblocks and bumps to side track attention to our toys.
we finally got around to test fit the wheels to see if we measured everything correctly in the mini-tubbing and axle narrowing.
i am happy to say, following the cliche "measure twice, cut once" was well worth the effort!

there is ample clearance all around for different tire sizes/brands. moving the axle back adds a lot without having to cut any of the wheel opening. it's the look i was shooting for without butchering the outer body panels. boogie

Thanks. Are you familiar with my build ?
If so, may I ask how would you begin to figure a fair price to ask?
Thanks again. Ricky
