heres a tip for fixin the manual mirrors when they get loose,these are the 1s with the 2 stands,look close around the mirror,there is a snap ring,pop it out and take the glass out,tap the outer part with a hammer where the ball socket sits,1 per side,reinstall the glass and ring,bingo,works fine,i just did 10 of them that i had,takes a little time but worth the effort

i have another style mirror also,think its for a 66 model,has the same base and a different style head,no lockring,guess ill have to soak it in gas and see if it will come off,then fix it
