The new parts that I'm making now use captured O-rings. So the motor plate can come off without changing gaskets or scraping RTV.
Thats a nice feature Andy...both sides?

I am using a factory water pump with a motor plate and run it with the Moroso belt driven setup. It will be a while before I can post pics, I am at work. I am also using gaskets but don't get a chance to race a whole lot right now. I think Pittsburghracer mentioned something about gaskets getting alot of abuse so it has me thinking about changing up at the end of the season. Also want to upgrade pumps to. Forabodiesonly has a CSI unit for sale if you are interested. Hi Mr.PBody!
Better get inside Ma. Looks like a storm's comin'.

Yes, the parts that I'm making now will have O-rings on both the timing chain housing as well as the motor plate. So no gaskets are required.

No gaskets are needed for the water pump, or the motor plate.

Sorry, not a very good picture, but I ran this setup on my 340 for many years every weekend the track was open. Used paper gaskets both sides of the motor plate with a thin layer of RTV. It's a stick car launched at 7,000 RPM, so it's definitely applying some torque to the motor plate! No leaks or cooling problems ever.
If it ain't broke ... you're not pushing it hard enough.

Do you have a front pic of the stock WP install? I curious how you got the lower hose to fit. Jim

I can get you the part number from my hose if you would like.
Well I gave up on using my Clay Smith mech. fuel pump today. I was going to have to purchase an electric WP to use it. So I opted to use the WP set I already had. I will by an elec. FP. I'm thinking a Mallory 250. Anyone have a better pump for the money?

I have been happy with the Mallory pump(s) I have used. On another note, the gasket between the back of the plate and the timing chain cover lost itself last nite. Not too sure which direction to go just yet, I am leaning towards an electric.
Better get inside Ma. Looks like a storm's comin'.
