Newer <5 years old top. Started seeing bubbling around the base/trim. Can I roll up the top, repair as necessary, then reglue it down? What glue?

I did it on my RR. Sanded, cleaned, resealed with epoxy primer, glued back on with 3M yellow contac cement. You may see the line where you quit pulling it up..

I am truckless..

You may want to put the car in the hot sun.
Hot water too or try using a heat gun to soften up the glue - ( to lift/pull up the material easier )

you could use a rubber formica roller,
a wood wall paper roller, to re form
the top to help hide the extra glue seam.

Thanks for the tips guys. We had sanded and painted the top with something to stop the rust (can't remember what now) before the new top was put on. I don't remember there being cancer there, just light rust which was cleaned.

If for some reason, I had to have metal cut out, and welded in, would it affect the top? I'm trying to not pull the top up more than necessary.

Vinyl roofs have destroyed more Mopars than crusher programs and bad driving put together. I dont understand why anyone would EVER re-install one. They add weight, complexity, and look awful. Just rip it off, fix/fill/paint the roof and enjoy a cooler car.

Using the wrong adhesive will start the rust every time. If the metal still had corrosion in the crevices/pinholes then it is coming back.
