According to Johnny Burge a former owner of an original & builder of what was dubbed "A Clone more correct than of the originals left" by MCG

There's a guy in Florida that owned a couple when new & Johnny got one from him as well as some other Hemi A body stuff to do his clone

Johnny said the guy told him that when the cars got repainted that was the first thing that got pitched & the holes filled.
They dug around & found one in the shop where they done bodywork & found one on top of a door frame or 2X4 in that building
If my mind serves me correctly he got the hood for his clone out of the rafters of the building too

I think in the MCG article Johnny told the guy's name

Johnny rolled his original Hemi Super Stock Dart in a street race

...The "repros" are $424...yes! $424, you could machine your own from stainless stock, and polish it out, to avoid chroming, or use aluminum?....I've done a few in the past for customers....sorry I don't make them anymore, but there is one on the bag now (repro), but $424 is just wrong IMHO

... if you do machine your own, depending on how "correct" you want to be, you wouldn't even need to reproduce the studs if need be, a 2 way body tape just like most repro emblems use, could be employed to mount it on the door?...

Greg Fernald sells repops for $125. I almost got one for my 68, but sold the project. Here's the link & if you scroll down a bit, you'll see the mirror delete plate. http://ssandafx.com/prod.html

I know where a vent box is but the guy won't get off of it! I have one of the repop mirror deletes and had a friend who works at a machine shop make me another spare. Greg's stuff is good!

I'm big on the correct delete stuff myself. The repro parts available out there (at least on Ebay or through better-known vendors) tend to be ridiculously overpriced. Coughghkramercoughcough.

I will second SS/AFX for having correct-appearing, quality parts at reasonable prices.

If you look through some of the pics on his webpage, you'll see a tach/oil pressure gauge bracket he uses. I thought it was really cool and wanted one but couldn't find one like it so I called up and asked about it. He sold one to me and it was inexpensive. I suggested he offer it in his products and he said he might but it hasn't appeared yet in his list.

I went to great lengths to find the one I have but I got lucky in that it was comparatively inexpensive. I need to figure out how to fix the door and hinge on it though.

There's mirror delete plate on Ebay right now for $60. Seller is from Mexico. It also looks a little f@cked up but for $60 it might be worth a look. Real ones don't exactly grow on trees.

RMCHRGR is the vent box a modified left side from the factory? Another expanded view would be helpful.

Nope, it is in fact a right side box. Unfortunately I don't have any better pics on my computer and at the moment I'm not where I can take any more.

The little 'wing' that extends inward on both the top and bottom of the vent door rusted clean off and the rivets have become one with the hinge pivot. It's shot. Trying to figure out how to make a new one. Maybe out of resin.

As a side note, I got a radio delete antenna fender plug off Ebag yesterday. I had one already but it was for an earlier car with a flat fender, this one is for a later A body. Cheap too! Delete stuff is cool!

Sorry for the hijack.
