I'm installing a line lock into my streetcar but the instructions are set up for a manual car holding the car while you have the clutch in. i want to use it on an auto & want to lock the rear brakes off whilst i'm doing the burnout. so as i understand these instructions, i worked out that if i reverse the direction of the solenoid so when i supply power to it & then apply the brake, the brake line pressure will be working with the solenoid & not against it. this would help to keep it closed & therfore not allowing the brakes to come on. does anybody else see it this way or should it still be installed the same way?

I would think that you install it like the directions but apply power to it before hitting the brakes, locking out the rear brakes. If there is some kind of pressure relief built in, it may act weird with the solenoid reversed. I used the same line lock but on the front brakes.

Shouldnt it be on the front brakes?
Holding pressure after the pedal is released.

Put it on the front brakes and plump it like it shows...
pump the brakes and hold the pedal hit the button...
let off the brakes and the rears will release while
still holding the fronts

i want to lock off the rear brakes & control the fronts with the pedal. if the car steps sideways during the burnout, you can release & reapply the brake to straighten it up. you can't do that with the solenoid controlling the fronts only. my racecar is set up like this & it works very well. only problem is the racecar is in the paintshop so i can't copy the set up.

When you plumb it backwards , the line pressure holds the valve closed after you release the button and it holds it for 30 - 45 seconds until it gradually releases. There is more than one way to skin a cat , but this ain't one of them.

Oh , yeah.....don't ask me how I know.

If it starts skating out on you TURN the steering
wheel and it comes back around... even when you are
just creeping forward... I dont put the lock on the
rears.... I can control the slide with the steering..
but do what you want
