I've got this saved in my computer as a NOS Grille.
The headlight bezels don't have the black tape stripe on the edges.
But I think later NOS R/T bezels didn't have the tape like production line pieces did. Please confirm or deny this.

Thanks Autoxcuda. Exactly what I needed!
There was a thread in the resto section that really went into 71 Challenger R/T head light bezels with that original tape stripe that cover half on the outer edge of the molding.
You should find that thread. And the might be some better grille detailing picture than those small picture I posted.

71 Challenger R/T tail light bezels were originally all black out and only silver in the tailight lense inset area. Two original paint survivor 71 R/T's

Yes you are right or so I have been told. I also have seen more than one car with it trimmed in argent. I knew that when I painted mine and prefer the argent on top to breakup the blacked out tailend. I also still have a original 71 RT 340 tail light bezel from a car I wrecked in 1978 that was original, that has the argent on top. I still have it and kept it and didn't use it on this clone. I can take pictures of it, it has the top edge trimmed in argent. So that's why I painted mine that way because my original was like that and I like it better that way. Still not saying it's right or correct.

Checkout this POS "restored" 71 RT grill. I bought it from Fuelinjectedfish from up in New york or somewhere back around 2004. I know he was a member here for while.
A bad bad E bay deal. He packaged it terrible and the one end got broke off during shipping. I glued it back together and then did not use it. He used what looks like some flat black BBQ grill paint on it. After I got that POS I knew I could do better than that myself. Checkout this nasty paint job. There is no argent anywhere on it and he even painted the snorkels! ....
IIRC, that was Joe Balboa. I remember people that lived near him would not buy from him. I think he is still around boards under different name(s).

Did you see A Gallant 71 RT car this past weekend at Carlisle? His rear bezel was trimmed with argent at the top and he was saying how correct his car was restored to OEM. web page Click on the third screen down with the 440 6 pak motor, it's all the way at the end of the video.

Yea I guess it is funny years later. I plan to strip that grill someday and repaint it and it'll be good for a nice driver. Too bad he let it get cracked/broken, it was a nice grill minus the paint job.

Ken Mosier has provided me with some tips on how to polish up the black plastic which I'll try in the next few weeks. ...
Did he have any suggestions on how to remove the argent paint from a grille so as not to damage the black plastic underneath it so you can leave it natural black??
Years ago 69Mannix suggested to me soaking the grille in old brake fluid to remove the argent delicately. I've never tried it.

I tried that....absolutely no effect Soda-blasting is a possibility on my list. I asked them how it would leave the finish of the plastic, they told me to bring the grill in and they would do a test on the back....
