Does anyone make a spacer/adapter to run a tall deck MSD distributor in a low deck block? I was thinking the extra height might be nice when running the cap-adapt that utilizes the larger ford style distributor cap.

Thoughts?

I have a MSD dizzy in a 383 block. I used a Mopar spacer, but the spacer ID was turned down to fit the large MSD base.

Now I am confused....can you elaborate on that sir?

I was hoping to gain some height using a 440 distributor in a 400 block with a spacer. Am I missing something here (like usual)?

Moparteacher - I will keep that in mind. I think the spacers are still around for sale...

It is a trick question because Mopar Performance has been making RB to B distributor adapters for 40 years. The trick part of the question is that those adapters do not fit a MSD distributor.

Billet adapter kit works with MSD 8546 Billet distributors.

What is different about the MSD dist that it won't fit? I have been using a 440 dist in my 383 for 25 years and was thinking about upgrading to an MSD. now I'm confused....

The MSD distributor has a bearing in the housing at both ends of the shaft so it is larger , all you need to do is have the ID of the adapter opened up , 10 mins on a lathe , if that long .

If running an N96 air grabber, suggest you check its clearance...

Just my $0.02...

I am going to use the taller RB distributor in a B (in this case 400) block to gain more clearance between the cap and passenger side valve cover. Hope that makes sense.

I appreciate the tip. My "air grabber" is two 1050's and an Indy tunnel ram.

That is correct. While it's on the lathe have it cut for a O ring also so it seals. Thanks to HEMI Joel for turning mine down.
