just got my egt kit 2 channel was wondering where to place them as in to what cylinder on each side it says you can place in any one on each side I was think #7 cause 5 and 7 are so close that 7 gets less fuel and #4 as 8-4 are in order what do you guys think are do

I would set all the pipes up to be able to look at two of them at a time first #7 is usually the hardest cylinder to get the mixture correct due to being 90 degrees behind #5 and usually, on most single plane intaks single four barrel intake manifolds, on the same barrel of the carb. If you want to sample only two I would do #7 and #8. Fatten 7 up until it starts to cool down and then go back a little on the jetting to get it between 50 and 75 degrees F rich of peak EGT, then do the other cylinder the same way

I would weld in 1/8" pipe bungs on all the tubes...
put then in a 1" from the head surface.. and make sure
your probes are all in at the 1".. I measure mine with
a set of calipers to get them ALL exact so they all
read the same point.. then I adjust the intake to get
the temps the same... I do this to MOST of the headers
that I build
