I have a question regarding gen 3 dakota 2wd front hubs. Can these be converted to 5 on 4.5 up front without a huge issue? The rear should be a simple axle swap but the front hub bearings are a concern. Thanks for the info. Dan.

Not a big deal. Send the front hubs to Moser to be plugged and redrilled or you could do it yourself if you have the equipment. The rotors will also need to be addressed. As far as the rear axles it took Moser 3 tries to make them for my Dakota .LOL They did get it right just took them a few tries.

After 1996 they went to a hub bearing assy so the spindles are a concern. I look to see if there is a five bolt hub available or will the gen 1 & 2 spindles work with later ball joints?

I looked for an easier swap but didn't find an easier out than the one I posted and yes,I've owned Dakotas from 1989-2000 and know the differences, good luck and let me know what you come up with.
