I'm working on an 82 4x4, it has a 9-1/4 diff with 10" brakes. My question is, will 11" backing plates off an 8-1/4 fit the 9-1/4? Also will the e-brake cables off the 10" fit the 11's.

Thanks

Thanks for your help, I didn't want to take it all apart and then find out they wouldn't work.

The drums are off but you can see they are 11's

it would come with 10" standerd but you could check off the 11" brake option when first owner paid for it new.

I worked/drove a 76 dodge 150 that a plumbing company bought new. /6-3 speed tree/9.1/4 with 12" HD brakes.

yep, got lots of funny looks asking for parts on that rear brake job.

my 8 1/4 from the 88 longbed has 2.76 gear with 11" brakes.

as long as you dont try the A-body 1 3/4" skinny brakes you can use any size from any axle. IIRC that includes a 7 1/4 with 10 brakes not 9" brakes.

85 B250 (light duty 5 lug) parts donor in the driveway is 8 3/8 rear end with I assume 11" drums, (they are visually much larger than the known 10x2" drums on my 79 B200 with 8 3/8 axle. )

Keeping that axle for my 79 since its also got 2.9x gears for highway driving.

Worked on an 87 D150 last year and it was the same way. Didnt measure them but those drums filled up the inside of the wheels.
