With that cam, more stall would be better. 4200 to 4500 would be a better match. I bet she runs pretty good as is though. I also think the SR,s really like a port job though. OOTB they are okay but not nearly to thier potential if I remember correctly. If the heads do come off for machining in the future, you might consider that as well.

Single plane intake might give better numbers at the track with more verter.

I would change two things, the mufflers(Go toMagnaflow 3x7x14 Ovals ) and a good 8 inch converter

Not nearly as experienced as a lot of the guys here, but a 3500 stall converter is the first thing that jumps out at me.
After that, I'd just keep saving for that top end redo and cam swap.
Don't think Ronnie/Joey Grose don't have any experiance?

The easiest thing to try would be a single plane intake. It will probably need a bit more rpm to work with your combo, due to losing a bit of power below 5,000 rpm. That and a (optional)converter change, (5,000 rpm stall) along with good high flow mufflers, might make a much bigger improvement. It all depends on how close you want to get to a more radical "race" type configuration. Each change gives up low speed tractability for ultimate power and ET. What about maxing out what you have? Look over every part of the combo and see if there is room to improve that part. Has anyone done well by reducing the intake plenum divider on the dual plane? How about exhaust improvements, like longer collecter extensions, cross overs, better mufflers? Carb spacer?
