Nope, we get to have our choice of Year One's 17" wheel. Because nothing looks more at home on an AAR 'Cuda than rubber-band tires.
Or order a tire that is bigger than what YO used in the ad.
Wow! that Charger is really up in the air. The rocker panel is nearly wheel hub high. Do you feel this stance effects the handling of the car? Really nice looking Charger on the whole, just sitting up pretty high off the ground.

Because it is 4wd..... Never put a tape to it but sitting next to my 71 Dart which is sitting on 14" rallyes.....they are pretty close to the same height. Only driven the Charger around the block (one block). I plan to drive it and work out a few bugs then I will start messing with getting the stance I want.

Take a Midol why don'cha. No one is forcing you to buy those wheels I think that AAR looks killer. You realise that if modern 17" tires would have been available in '70 they would ABSOLUTELY have been running then. Jeeze
Indeed.
Y'know, if Year One did aluminum rallyes in 15's they would outsell the 17's by probably 50 to 1.
I can count on one hand the number of members on this board who have posted that they own a set of the Year One 17's. Pretty dismal numbers if I'm sitting at the bosses' chair over at YO.
Yep, they're kinda neat to look at but destined for the swap meet table in about 5 years time. I dunno, I thought lots of people would buy them but it just isn't the case.
Modern wheels belong on modern cars. I won't give up the 17, 18, and 20's that are on the rest of my new vehicles, but I'll burn in hell before they wind up anywhere near my old girls.
*Edit*
You'll be famous if you do it, Oz. Not that you aren't already, of course.
Oh, I've thought of it for a long time, but my biggest roadblock is the liability/testing and the rest of the red tape that would have to go into the safety and certification aspects of something like this. It's a wheel and it better not fly apart on someone at 140 mph.
But, yeah, bruttaly simple idea, I've got tons of 'em.
I wouldn't buy 15" aluminum rallyes, personally....because it's getting harder and harder to find decent performance tires in a 15" rim that is tall enough for classic muscle cars....
where YO screwed up is not having an 18" version of this wheel with around 20mm positive offset in a 5x115mm bolt pattern...you'd sell a ton of them to late model challenger owners....
and a 235/55R17 or 255/50R17 still have plenty of sidewall...they're 27" tall, so you have 5" sidewall, and avoid the "rubber band" look

No problem...I can have cast aluminum wheel center molds made(once you have something to go off of)...runs you about $9,000ish for the mold, plus then to make each center from that. Then just weld them into standard aluminum outers.
As a preface, I am not an engineer, I did not sleep in a Holiday Inn Express.
But I doubt a cast wheel could faithfully represent a pressed steel rim. Somehow the cast seems to weak to be as thin as the steel version.
aluminum has a much lower modulus of elasticity, IIRC roughly 1/3 that of steel, so to get equal stiffness, the cross section would need to be thicker....you could add the thickness with ribs on the backside to minimize additional weight.

I would have purchased some but they are too big to put on a Duster without trimming away metal for tire clearance. If they made 15's I'd own a set. I think they targeted the "meat" of the market (68-71 B&E body cars). Too bad because I know a lot of people who'd buy them if they were offered in a smaller size.

Kinda rusty for aluminum. Looks like the steel 16 hole wheels used on late 70s B and C bodies.
I had a set of those and while they do look like steel, they certianly aren't. Problem is they are only 6" wide.

man i would love a set of those in a mopar pattern that would accept the red line dog dishes. i would paint those body color . much rather have the 17" alum wheel like that then a 15" steel wheel that i'm gonna have to use to get the look that jamie wants for her dart.

If they made them in 14" and 15" would they be F.A.S.T and Stock class legal? About 2006, I saw a pair of 15 inch aluminum 'steelies' on a car at the Year One F.A.S.T. race in Atlanta. It was a high dollar car, but it still couldn't cut the mustard. Ain't naming names, cause I really dont know whose car they were on. Legal? Rules say no, butt.... www.fastdrags.com/fast-rules 14.00 TIRES AND WHEELS AND BRAKES
14.01 Wheels must be correct*, including correct* diameter, width and material.
Note: Width may be upgraded to a maximum of 6”, if the correct* wheel is narrower than that. Reproduction wheels OK.
14.02 All 4 wheels and tires must be same size.
Exception: Mopar TA Challenger came from factory with G-60’s on rear and F-60’s on front.
14.03 Original equipment reproduction bias-ply tires only. No soft compound tires of any kind are allowed.
Retread tires are not allowed. Any car is allowed to upgrade to a maximum size tire of G-70 of the correct* wheel diameter.
All cars that were originally available with a 60 series tire can upgrade to a maximum size of G-60 tire of the correct* wheel diameter.
Exception: First time F.A.S.T. participants are allowed to run normal ’non-sticky’ street radials for their first F.A.S.T. race.
14.04 Aftermarket or OEM brake upgrades are allowed for safety concerns. Every effort should be made to achieve a stock appearance.
14.05 Line locks are allowed if hidden.Stock class rules say factory rims, so light weight rims not allowed there either.... but know that it has happened in the distant past.

On tire sizes can I go from E70 14"s on 5-1/2" rims to G70 14"s on 6" wide rims on a '69 Dart GTS for F.A.S.T. ? Seem like it according to the rules you posted? That's the way I read the rules. Was there ever an option for 15 inch tires, even if it was for police, taxi, or export? That could give you a larger tire footprint, but at a weight penalty for heavier wheels.
