After selling me his truck last fall Brett has started on his nex project. He is going to build a 1978 4x4 Crew cab shot box stepside Diesel (that's a mouth full).

He found a clean 2wd long box north of Winnipeg. Last weekend he removed the cab from the frame with a forklift and while he had it in the air he made a stand for the cab to sit on.

This cab is 1981-84 but he is going to make it into a 78, it least that's the plan right now.

He still has to put wheels on the stand to made it easy to move in and out of the shop.

I ended up with the rest of the 2wd truck and yeaterday pulled out the 360 and trans.

85 was the last crewcab wasn't it? Its the same cab as the 70s just dash and front doors changed. Does he have a frame already? Hmmm Crew Cummins Express

Yes, the dash and front doors & the fire wall if you want to run the 70 heater box.

He has the two 4x4 short box crew cabs that he got from me when we traded trucks. This is the cleanest one.

I know the box will end up on one of my trucks. The whole thing is so clean I would hate to wreck it, but it has pocketed control arms so I might have to do something with them. Just not sure yet, maybe a long box 4x4 crew.

I have an 80s crew longbox Im swapping to 70s aswell. Dream of a Cummins 5spd but for now I figure I might as well get the same mileage just with more power so plans are to toss in a 440/727 and a D60 with 3.54 gears to help the pigs mileage
