Ball on the adjuster or cup?

How far are you screwing the adjuster through the rocker arm to get your lash?

There is a reason I ask these questions. Many times guys have too short a pushrod. This requires the adjuster to be screwed so far out of the rocker arm that you start to get defection in the adjuster. This deflection causes the nut to get loose. Just maybe that particular rocker requires a little more of the adjuster poking out than the others.

is the rocker arm aluminium? if so have you had a valve/piston contact with that arm? if so change the rocker arm.

Check that the nut contacts the arm evenly all the way around. If the face of the rocker isn't square where the nut lands, it will back off.

After some discussion, we believe the threaded hole maybe out of round and works its way loose at high rpm. This rocker had previous damage due to a pushrod coming loose but we were given the okay to run the rocker by the manufacturer(Harland sharp). Anyway we are replacing the rocker this week.
