Looking for a web site that tells were the date codes are on an 8 3/4 rear end. I am talking about from the first year to the last year of the 8 3/4.

If you're looking for something like the BOM stamps on the Dana 60, you won't find it on the 8 3/4". Externally, the casting date on the third member and internally the date stamped on the ring gear is all there is.

489 case 3.23 open diff. - 1969 Charger early July SBD

ps, there is black paint on the bottom of the case ( seen in the picture ) and what I think was either white or pink paint mark towards the ft , it was real faint so I can't say with 100% certainty which color

69 Barracuda 3.23 w/o Sure Grip, dated 10/23 for early November SPD. Among other things, had the blue paint daub shown on the bottom of the case and the yellow circle on the housing at bottom left of photo.

There's always one in the crowd.

I unfortunately don't get the chance to part out pristine rust free cars :whining:

John, I suggest you move.... Yeah out here we are lucky & find markings that in many areas are lost forever..

FWIW there is a date code & an axle assy number... And on this particular vehicle the axle was assembled one day after the third member was assembled...

The paint blotches on the underside of the carrier (black, blue, pink, etc.) were put on to indicate which gear package it had, ratio, etc.
