I want to say 9/16, it is a 5/16 thread bolt which normally has a 1/2 head , but I think because of how thin they are they are the next wrench size up ?????

I'm gonna agree with John that they have 9/16" heads and are 5/16" fine thread bolts. A little unique to the old mopars...maybe newer ones too.

Yep factory flexplate is 5/16 with a odd 9/16 head.

Unless you are working with a Hemi converter, they use 7/16 bolts.
Some hi-stall after market converters use 7/16, as well. All others
are 5/16.
I believe there are bolt kits available from Mopar and others
with the thin head bolts.

Flex plate bolts have a 3/4" head. The factory bolts had 5/16 thread and after market has 3/8 both with fine thread

The bolts that hold flexplate to the crank have 3/4 heads , the flexplate to convertor are 9/16 in the case of an engine with it's original convertor.

the original question
