I have a 96 with 318 . My cruise control sticks on sometimes..

As in , i tap the brakes and it wont shut off--the engine accelerates / throttle goes to the floor !! I basically have to stand on the brakes--and hold down the SET button.
Once i had to put it in neutral and shut the engine off !

If i press the on/off button, it wont shut off.

It does this randomly, i have changed out the control button deal thats on the steering wheel.

What would cause this ???

It is most likely the clockspring control located under the steering wheel.

If yours is the same as the 92-93 I have two good used ones.

I replaced the clockspring a couple years ago with a good one.

My 92 would sometimes stick. The cable going from the throttle body to the vacuum actuator would stick. Spraying wd40 on the cable would fix it for a while.
