Got my 4BBL set up I pulled out of the junk yard up and running, and on the pickup. What a difference! Idle is perfect, power is waaaaaaay up now, and it just sounds sooooooo good! I'm liken it lots!
Here's a few pic. I just had to share.
The old,

The new,

And here's the choke thermostat I couldn't find,

A place called A&E auto parts had just what I needed. They have a big inventory of old, and hard to find parts. Great guys, and very helpful. In case your interested.
Here's their flier.

Yah, I tried them. No one had any. Any they did have were elect. assisted. Not what I needed.
But this isn't about the choke, I'm happy I got the 4BBl on and working. Great too, I might add! I'm in a good mood now. Car show tomorrow (for the Duster), and my projects are all done. Whoooo Hoooo!

only took me two years, and i still haven't done the cut and buff yet. or paint the engine compartment. i am working on the 340 now, and am adding roller lifters, and a different cam and springs.

Well, if you mean me. No mods, just all stock. Took all of what I needed to do the swap off a '76 pickup in the bone yard. After I clean, bead blasted, painted, got some new parts, and rebuilt everything it all went on with little effort (but damn those manifolds are heavy!). I even got all the kick down linkage, and throttle cable too. I think it turned out good. Anyway, I'm happy with it. I just took my time doing it. Mostly cause I can't stand very long on my sore toe. If you have any questions let me know.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I think I have most everything needed for the swap. Would just like to give the teen a little more umph..
