I am rebuilding a '62 trans. I was given a '65 valve body. When installing the valve body all the bolt holes line up except the center bolt hole in the back. I took a brief look at the passages and they seem to line up. Will this work? Thanks.

The only thing that would concern me is that the passages near the area the bolt goes may not seal properly allowing pressure leakage and whatever that passage feeds would at some fail due to the leakage. Does there look like a way to elongate the hole in the valvebody to realign it to the case without damaging the valvebody or cutting into a passage. This may be the only alternative unless this valvebody won't work with that trans. I am not sure myself but maybe someone else here knows for sure.

I don't know what the passages in the rear are for. But any loss of hydraulic pressure wouldn't be good.

Pretty sure the '62 has the rear pump and the '65 doesn't. I would think that would make the VB's non interchangeable.

Yes this trans has a rear pump. What was the last year for the rear pump?

The rear center bolt hole location is different for the 727 and 904. They can be made interchangeable by elongating the hole in the steel separator plate.

To use the 65 valve body with the 62 push button's you will also have to use the 62 rooster comb on the 65 valve body.

The PB cable works fine in the Column/Console VB but you must use the Column/Console adjustment procedure i.e. the PB adjustment procedure calls for adjusting in the Reverse position and pushing on the cable while the Column/Console procedure is done in 1st while pulling on the cable.

If you use the PB procedure on the '65 you will be one gear off...AMHIK.
