Ya I know this question has been asked way to much but I couldn't pull up any of the past info from everybody. So which headers to use on 70RR 493? Have hooker now and can never get number 6 port to seal up. Thanks Brian

I just swaped out my Summit 1 3/4 for a set of hooker 2" and the 2" was an easier install.

the hookers have great access to all the plugs and I only had to use one "heat shield"

I have some 2" tti headers for my edelbrock headed 493 and I installed them in my 67 Coronet with power steering without lifting the engine. Starter has to be a mini. Starter has to be installed before installing headers it is captured. (Not coming out with the headers on) Plus I had the torsion bars out when I installed them. The headers are great for the angle plugged edelbrock heads.
I got lucky and found mine unused on Craigslist for $175.

I believe Dougs are the same other than the price.

Do you want the best fitting header or do you mean the best fitting header with the best price ? I can only tell you the 2" TTI's on my 63 Sport Furys 440/493 are the best headers I have even installed. They were not cheap at $691 big ones but they are the best quality headers I have ever used. Thats not to say the Dougs or Hookers are not as good as I have not used them for years. But I will say the TTI's are definetly a better header then the Hedmans I used. But for the price the Hedmans worked ok and fit good enough as they are an ok header just not as good a quality or as easy a fitting as the TTI's. I would have no problem using the Hedmans if thats what fit my budget as they work fine. I just wanted the best header I could get when I put the 493 in my 63 and in my opinion the TTI's were the best headers I have ever used. As was said thats just my opinion as I still would have no problem using the Hookers or Dougs and even the Hedmans if thats all I could swing. Ron
