Well, he isn't, me and another guy are. Pulled from his garage today, he has a rebuilt 440 engine and a BB cable shift rebuilt trans. Both were done some years back and will need a good looking over before using. He is the second owner, (now 74 yrs young) bought it from his uncles' estate around '89. Car now has 38k miles. Slant six automatic, got the car running tonight, everything works! We are going to update the driveline and braking, then it will go back to him as a driver, then the paint and bodywork will be started. The door hinges have no play up and down, close nice and solid. Great to find cars like this, especially when someone is willing to fix it with a little nudging.

Here's the owner, as soon as he saw me getting ready to snap a pic he jumped right in! He has been kicking around the idea of fixing this car up for at least ten years, but then he saw my friends cars in his garage and told him about this Dodge he owned. One thing leads to another, and he decided to go ahead and let us start the project. And YES, I tried to talk him out of it and sell me the car first. At least he agreed to give us first shot if he wants to sell...

Low miles, interior is in good shape, no cracks in dash or steering wheel. Trunk has the orig mat and cardboard pieces in the trunk.

After getting it started, gave her a quick washing. Has a couple of rust spots, but all glass is nice and clear. This will make him a nice Hot Rod. I want to keep the beige color, which he doesn't like, and we have to iron that out as it will be painted under the hood. There is some undercoating sprayed in engine compartment and I want it all cleaned and painted before the engine goes in.
Car was less than 15 minutes from where I live, amazing what is still out there.

Last time on the road was in 1991. The car has been sitting since then, brakes still work and car rolled out of the garage freely, nothing hung up. Parking brake still works, as well as all the lights and accessories.

painting it would be a shame, leave it be

I'm with you on the color, but again he mentioned a change. Today, took the car over to where the work will be done. I drove it there! Dropped engine/trans and front suspension out from underneath today, will get underhood area cleaned and then painted. Car has a Suregrip in it, no tag on the rear end, but can figure out gear ratio easily.
