I started my truck up for the first time in a couple of weeks today. It was parked because the tranny was all messed up. It was running cold and went right into gear, both reverse and drive. I moved my other car to take it down the road and when I got out it was making a grinding noise from the tranny. I very slowly went into drive and did not move well at all, like it was slipping. As it got warmer, it eventually didn't move at all. Anyone know what could be up with it?

the 46re is famous for being a weak tranny. It could be time for a rebuild? When was the last time you did a band adjustment? Checked your trans fluid? If so what color was it? did is smell burnt?

I think its a 46RH tranny. Out of a 94 Dodge Ram. Its was recently flushed because it got full of water. The fliud does not smell burnt and is red. If there is any more water in it, could that cause this to happen?

Water could of been in it long enough to ruin the clutches.
