I have a pair of a 69 and a pair of 71 C body HP manifolds that I want to use on my 68 charger. Will they work on my car? I know the passenger is the same as the others so specifically the driver side manifold. Thanks guys!

I would have to ask why? It would look out of place? Why not use the correct B body pieces since the c-body pieces are much more rare. Plus I think the B-Body stuff flows better?

Ok since you asked. Because I have them and I dont want to pay the 300-400 for b body ones?? Why not use what I have? I doubt they flow any better or worse as they are very similar looking just the flange looks tilted up a bit more which is why I am wondering if I will have clearance issues with the exhaust?

The pass side is the same between B and C HP. The C drivers side has the flange kicked out towards the side so that is the area that might cause some problems.

You can find loose B body driver side HP manifolds at swap meets, ebay etc. for $ 100 or so if you look .

not sure the DS will work. I'd sell those and buy the right ones, even better get a set of headers. C-body guys go goffy over those hi-po logs

What's everyones opinions got to do with the OP's question anyway?
Ya, the C body exhaust manifols will work in your car.
You will just have to bend the exhaust pipe the right way, to fit the flange, and around the steering column shaft.

I don't know how you are going to bend up a drivers side pipe that would clear the column with something like this.

Seen too many guys try to use the C body manifolds in B and E swaps when engine swapping, never works out, they eventualy go headers or the correct manifolds, do yourself a favor, pony up the and go with headers or the correct manifolds,...only common sense

I beg to differ slightly... As has been stated, the C body HP manifold flange's more horizontal kick out will put it close to steering rod/knuckle. Like you, I had the C body manifolds so I used them. On my car it was the head pipe flange, not the manifold per se, that was close to interfering. I just trimmed back the head pipe flange a bit for clearance and it works. This is a '69 HP 2863409 in a '65 Satellite. YMMV

That's why you do the job you do and don't work in a custom exhaust shop

I put that exact manifold in my dart on a 383 and it will work with a custom bent headpipe, maybe make it up from mandrel bends .

If the flange isn't pointing right at the steering column there is more romm in a 68 b body engine compartment than a 69 a body .

you got that right, that's why my car is sitting right now. Because I put the 2" hookers on and I have to cut and weld some pipe.. and I'm not too good at that.
