I have an electrical issue in my Duster that I just restored, that wasn't there before I restored it. When you hit the brakes the drivers side tailight and the map light come on. When you open the door the pass tailight and the map light come on. I have traced all the wired back and it seems as everything is connected per the wiring diagram. The brake light switch has the pink wire connected closest to you and the white wire closest to the firewall. When disconnected and power applied to the white wire it will illuminate both tail lamps, and with the pink it will illuminate the dome and map light. I double checked the wiring connections with my 72 Demon and didn't find anything. Could it be up in the turn signal switch? Its the original switch and when you turn it to the right side it doesn't flash, although it does illuminate correctly in the pass tail light. It appears somewhat darkened on one side, the side where the pass/ brown wire is located. It may have got dialectic grease/or oil inside of it when I put it back together too. I did have to change out the headlight switch (bad dimmer) for a good used 68 one that I had as a spare. The brake light switch and turn signal switch are the originals. I've scraped all the paint off of any mounting areas and used dielectric grease to help with any grounds. The ground wire is one the column mount. The dash itself is well grounded on all mounting points. Anybody else have this issue??

Thats why I'm guessing it could be up in the turn signal switch.
You are guessing wrong. The map light circuit is not related in any way to the turn or brake circuits. Forget the turn signal switch. You have other problems that you are over looking.

My '78 Magnum had a bad habit of melting out the brake light fuse. When this happened, and you hit the brakes, the dome lights would come on inside (and no brake lights out back). Fuse looked okay, but tested bad, solder melted inside the fuse end. New fuse and all was well. This is probably not your problem since you have one brake light that works okay.
+1
plus melted cavity at fuse box for brake lights fuse

The bad fuse or cavity will cause a feedback through brakes to map/dome, or vice versa.
