The other survivor 71 runner inspired me to post photos of my car...

1971 Road Runner 440+6 4spd (numbers matching)super track pack with just under 80K miles. It's had paint touch up along the bottom of the quarters and the drivers fender was repainted years ago after a battery exploded.

Thank you for posting. Your car has been well cared for and is a excellent example of what a survivor is.

Hey I love your 71 RR. What a nice piece of history to own. I'm sure it is in good hands now. Good Luck!

What a nice car! This is my favorite condition of collector car all the way. It sure doesn't hurt it's got a great package on options as well.

This car has been in my care since 2005 and unfortunately I haven't driven it much. Seems other things take up too much of my time.

It has an interesting history. Sold new less than 2 hours from here, it has been all over the country before coming back to Ohio. The original owner received the car as a high school graduation gift! He actually drove it down to Ohio State when he attended college, and it went with him to Arizona. Interesting too is that Keith Rohm (who you may know from the Nats judging) went to school with the original owner and remembers the car well. It stayed with the original owner for almost 30 years, then changed hands several times between 2000 and 2005.

I have a stack of paperwork about 1" thick including repair records, emission testing, registrations, etc and new dealer selling paperwork. The car was ordered in November 70 and delivered about 3 weeks later with a sales price of $3892.52. The original owner tells me he has the window sticker somewhere, but so far he's been unable to find it. I've not been able to find a broadcast sheet in the car.

I'm still trying to get the original owner to send me photos of the car from back when it was new.

HA...thanks Ryan. I've spent a whole lot more time building the garage over the last few years than doing anything with my cars.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I hope some of the photos will help with restoration details. Now if I only had a 71 HEMI runner or GTX survivor to park next to it!

another...original tip

Only one original tip is remaining. The first owner tells me he was driving along one day and heard the other tip fall off. The repop on the other side looks completely different.

That sure looks a LOT purtier than when I had those...

LOVE the faded carpet in this thing--that SO puts me in mind of several old Mopes I've owned, including my OWN Road Runner the first time I owed it.

If you have a 71 2dr and your bumper flexes when you push on it (top middle), this is what you're missing (the black bracket). Seems like a lot of these cars had the bracket discarded through the years.

Thank you for the pictures.
These will help me in the restoration of my 71 RR!

Great car and thank you for taking the time to document all its factory details. I will continue to revisit this thread as I work on my own RR.

I just reacquired my old ‘71 440+6 4-spd Super Track Pack car. Long story, but it turns out my name was still on the title after selling it in 2009. I guess that just means I was destined to have this car back!

It’s B5 and it has a white buddy seat interior, rim-blow wheel, and the long throw pistol grip. It is also coded for A87 and has the white strobe stripe and Air Grabber. It’s pretty well loaded with other options too, but like yours, it also just has the basic chrome non-racing side mirror. Once I started looking harder at them, I’ve seen quite a few RRs built without the racing mirrors so maybe it is a thing?
