Hi all: Carb question. A guy I know has a 70 318 manual trans E Body. No broadcast sheet. The car also has A/C. Which carb would be correct a 4721 manual trans carb or a 4895 A/C carb? Only the broadcast sheet would tell for sure. Does anyone have a sheet for a 1970 A, B, or E body with a manual trans and A/C??? Maybe a tough request to fill!! Any help would be very much appreciated. He wants to make sure he gets the correct carb for his car.

The 1970-1971 parts book lists the 4895S as a 318 carburetor, but the original 1970 parts book lists it as a 383 carb. Lots of mistakes in the 1970-1971 book were never updated. See attached pic for the 1970 book.

I have an original 4895 Carter and it is identical to a 4721 and 4722, other than the dash pot, etc on the 4721 and some minor internals. A 4894 Carter, of which I have several is a much bigger carb. So yes, it is misidentified in the 70 book, but if you compare the breakdown listings for a 4721, 4722 and 4895, you will see that they are very similar, unlike a 4894 and its "cousins" Still need that broadcast sheet to sort everything out.
