Assuming it's a unibody you'll want to build some subframe connectors. If it's a full frame car you can look at X braces between the rails.

I would add connectors, but it appears to have factory "rails" front to rear. I looked up Car Crafts '67 2 door, and the floor looks a lot different than this car. Looks like the factory might have done my work for me. I know I jacked the car up by one front corner and all the doors opened and closed the same. Not something I could say for any of my non-connected A-bodies.

That car is a find, everybody loves wagons! Great car to build up. I love that you have kept it AMC powered as well.

Mopar to the bone!!!

Now all you need to do is swap in a 4.2 crank and .060 over pistons for a 40 cube increase, a turbo and....

Cool car.

I've seen an off-road mag that had one of those 4.0l up to 5.0l

I don't have very many pics right now. That and I'm playing with springs and daily driving it. Right now it sits level and is filthy. I'll post suspension related pics here when I actually get it closer. It was so low I smacked the original Jeep 4.0 pan until it leaked. I picked up the engine on 1/2 off day for $100, so I'm not real careful with it. As far as stroker cranks go, this one's going to get an Eaton M90 blower off a Ferd Thunderchicken. I scored an entire crossmember and front suspension off a '68 4 door at the PicknPull during lunch for mocking up delrin bushings and Crown Vic brakes. Also picked up a 12.7:1 power gear out of a Grand Cherokee.

With that quick a steering box be very carefull driving on the street. If you have an emergency manuvour you could end up in the ditch or into the side of a cliff. Been there didn't do that because I knew the 12 to 1 box in my AMX was that quick. Some jerk off in an suv was half way on my side of the road coming around the curve on a mountain road. I'm sure even with standard steering box some people would have hit the bank/cliff anyway.

12;1 came stock on some Firebirds and Camaro's, I had one of the T/A Firebird boxes in the last 2 cars I had.( 86 Buick GN and a 55 Chevy) I didn't find it that quick? ( like unsafe?)

Owning an AMC product has one of the best secret advantages by the simple bolt-in of the GM fast-ratio ps gear box (12:1)... especially for autocrossing through pylons... and even more of advantage if your AMC is a short wheelbase model, such as the awesome 2-seat AMX, or even the Hornets or Gremlins. IF I'd ever get to own such a car (I'd really like the short wb 2-seater AMX model), then one of the very first things I'd do is swap the ps gear box to that quick-ratio GM box (of course also with a Saginaw ps pump)... in fact, every AMC autocross racer and road course racer I know has done that swap. And then, while also at it, I'd have a smaller diameter steering wheel (my T/A has an 11.5" diameter wheel... really makes a huge difference for quicker steering through pylon manuevers, etc, as well as having a T/A box and proper arms... you don't really need the T/A box... but especially the longer arms with any ps box.).

I have the 12 to 1 with the high pressure pump. Made by some company in Texas. My steering wheel is 13 1/2" outside dia.

Hey guys, got the Rambler pretty well dialed. Running 175lb AFCO coils front, 195lb Mustang leafs in the back. KYB's all around 'cause I'm cheap. Narrowed Explorer 3.73 Trak-Lok 8.8 with disc's in the rear, 12.5" Crown Vic Police brakes on the front. No swaybar yet, but it handles great. I attribute most of it to spring rate and good high po used 16" Bridgestones. Tires, brakes, shocks, poly bushings, I don't know why I waited so long. I've attached some photos/videos of my road trip to Speed Weeks. There's some good Mopars in there, especially the EFI turbo /6 Dart and the 170 /6 record setting Barracuda fastback.
