My 74 scamp glass seems loose when its rolled all the way down. There dosnt seem to be anything to hold it remotely snug when the window is all the way down. Am I missing something? It seals great when up and goes up and down fine... just verly loose back an forth toward the inside and out when all the way down.

Sounds like its off at the bottom of the track. Can you grab the top edge of the glass and pull it upward significantly? If you can do that, I'd say the large plastic rivet that holds the window to the track has broken and fallen away. Time to pull the door panel for a peak at what's happening.

no, it dosent move up and down only back and forth toward the inside and outside of the door.

pop door panel and top plastic piece off, under plastic piece should be a grey/silver bracket almost the length of the door, it should had little rubber pieces that press against glass, you may have to loosen bolts and press the bracket against the glass and tighten and test.

I tried that,,, then the glass is too tight and wont go all the way up. It seems its going down too far. Is there a way to control how far down it goes?. Its going below the weatherstrip. It seems like if it would stay up where it was touching the weatherstrip it wouldnt be so loose.

Is there supposed to be a rubber bumper attached to the bottom of the door frame to limit the downward travel? I have a 70 service manual that shows some type of bumper... the 70 tracks are completely different than the 74...

They rattled when the car was brand new....

not sure about the a body but on b bodies, there is a rubber stop in the bottom of the door to prevent it going down to far
