It is a cute setup. Will it run better than a good single plane or RPM intake?
If it is tuned right, it will be about the same; otherwise it will look old school and be a few tenths off.
The adapters must cost $100 or so; the same intake for an RB can be had for the same in my experience and just plain look better.
I have run several of the old school dual quad intakes on both sb and bb engines. It is in the tune and how good your heads are that make it work. I have had them on low to higher compression engines.
Good luck with your decision, it is not for everyone.
Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen!
Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

Keep the carbs and peddle the intake. You should be able to get a RB intake for about the same money as a B intake. Maybe someone out there wants to do a swap? It would sure look good on my 383, If I had one for a 440 I'd swap!

Cab would you be using the idle circuits on both carbs? I have an iron single plane OE (58?) dual quad intake going on a 451 B with (2) 4131 AFB's converted to eddy rods/jets. First time dual quad user
You have to use both idle circuits on them, no choice I had one of those intakes on my first stroker motor, 413 crank welded up and offset stroked another 3/8 inch Can you say 454 C.I. in a 383 That was what I was told by the former owner of the motor I never veridied the C.I. It ran 12.94 in a 4400 lb car on the old seven inch slicks with a stock cast iron torqueflyte and converter with a single legger 3.73 rear That one got me hooked permenetly on drag racing BTW, mine didn't have a match set of carbs like yours does , I'm jealous , yours should run better than mine did Try running them hooked up progressiveley and then one to one and see which way you like the best
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
