How do you remove the wide trim along the lower body line of a 1987 D150 without breaking the clips? I have thought about using a hammer, pry bar, even dynamite. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance. Matt

get a trim removal tool (the thin flat one) and a helper. one guy works the tool, the other guy guides the trim off the clips. i have an old one that's like a piece of metal banding material, with a notch cut into the center of one end, and the notch is bent out slightly. it slides behind the trim, and the little "lip" from the notch grabs the inside edge of the trim. you just pull up, and have someone help you ease it out. sometimes you need to go from the bottom instead.

my experience is, you are going to break some clips, no matter how slow and gentle you are. they get brittle, and you cant avoid losing some. be calm, accept the loss of a couple, and keep trying on the rest. (don't be like my spaz buddy, and break a clip, get pissed then just rip the trim off like a savage.)

The way the clips are designed you push down and pull the bottom out and slide up to clear the 2 little "tension antanas". As stated they get brittle and will break. The door has a nut at the front and rear aswell
