my point is at 7.1 in the 1/8 he shouldn't be having traction issues. sounds like he wants to look cool? and at that ET he isn't dealing with a lot of HP. AND I am not saying that to put him down just to make a point.
Looking cool is cool.......... nothing wrong with that, considering he will also make the car faster........
OP ... Sounds like your front end needs to come down first of all. Lots of good advise here....
PM me if you like... Your looking in the right direction.....

IMO his 60's are slow, when my Dart was running 7.20s I was in the 1.54-56 range. I wouldn't throw away the CE shocks yet, I've been 1.38 on them several times, normally go 1.40-41.
I'm betting your car would work better with a good shock..... if you go 1.40's with a 1.30's combo. it does not make the CE's a good shock....... Slower cars gain more with a better shock..... But there is a ton of stuff to do here........ If you want a good working car....

If you unhooked the front shocks and the car picked up in the 60ft, would that tell you the shocks could be improved upon? Any safety issues if you did unhook them? Or would you run it to the 1/8 mile and let off of it?

old racer told me at the track 1 night that a well know racer told him to turn the bolt up on top of the front shocks a even amount .. so that night I tried it on 1 pass worked.. even though my car was in need of some frontend work... car would run 7.40 at 90 mph with a 1.67 best 60'.. car would pick the wheels up about 5/6" in the air for a few feet then sit them down and spin...
What does turn the bolt up mean? Make sure the shock is loose in its mount? Sorry didnt stay at a Holiday Inn last night...

My car is a street/strip pump gas small block that gets bracket raced. All the 1.38 60' have came in very good air, it will go 1.40-41 in the heat. Never said that the CE was a good shock, but I don't think it's a bad one either. I'm not going to spend $500 to pick up .02 or .03.

An old trick from an old racer a few years ago. Drill a hole in the shock body and let the oil out. Makes shock FREE. Probably wouldn't reccomend it, but it DOES work. DAMHIK

Dont do that... if you get on a bumpy track you can get out of shape pretty easy... just buy some Calvert 90/10... they are a pretty decent shock for cheap

I would bet they are a decent shock. I have Koni spa-1's and when I changed to them, over the lakewood 90/10's there was a day/night difference......
In order of cost here are the things you can do to your front end.... 1)Install your upper control arm bushing greased and loose 2) Install a polly lower control arm bushing ( stock one are a rubber press fit) 3)Try and get a min of 5 inches of travel ( front as low as you can get it) 4)Loosen up a set of Moog strut rod bushings (this will give More travel too) 5)Strut rods with rod ends. This is pretty huge!!! The PST look real good. (So do the Dillengers but I would not drive around the block with the chincy rod end they use.) 6) Front shocks Calverts to Afco's the more you spend the better.....
