I cant find the tank any longer, but just last year I had found a manufacturer of an aftermarket, direct fit 45 gallon tank for the Ramchargers.

It was a steel tank, and came with all the goodies, float, pickup, sending unit, etc.

For the life of me I cannot recall the maker.

Anyone here happen to know who that is?

When I drive my RC it will be on daily 120+ mile trips, and I don't want to be filling up every two days. I would like the extra capacity, and I am not confident that the tank I have now is clean.

It has been removed, and rinsed two different times now, and I was still getting enough crud to plug fuel filters. And that was even after replacing all the hard and rubber lines.

Now with the electric fuel pump, I really want to be sure I'm not pumping crap through. With an under frame fuel filter I will be really SOL if it were to plug while I was driving.

I cant get under the rig to change it, and I don't think roadside assistance will do that.

If you can figure the dimensions of the tank I have a friend who's also a member here that can build it when the race track ain't open

NorthWest Metal Products in Oregon makes the only 45 gallon I know of...however there is no pump in it, just the sender for the gauge and fuel pickup.

Aerotanks makes a 40 gallon tank. The don't currently sell one with a intank pump for emissions reasons. I think the 45 gallon NWMP on is the way to go. 10 gallons over stock is nice.

I have both the aerotank and NWMP tank. NWMP tank uses straps and the aerotank bolts directly the the crossmembers.

The NWMP tank was the one I was looking for.

Thanks!

fyi-The fuel guage on the ramcharger only seems to up to just over 3/4 of a tank after being topped off.

I have not looked at it yet to the cause of the issue. It could be my actual gauge.

But you may want to compare the ohms values on the senders before you install/buy the tank.

The NWMP straps also mount from the passenger side framerail to the driverside framerail of the truck versus the stock tank straps that go front to rear crossmember. The aerotank bolts onto the F&R crossmembers.

Does the 45 gallon tank come with helper springs? That, and a raised limit on the debit card for the $175 fill-ups...

In your opinion,
if the rear spare tire framerail mounts were removed from a 1995 Ram 1500,
would either of these Ramcharger tanks
mount there in the Ram
with custom brackets?

A transfer pump would be used to move fuel to the original Ram 26 gallon tank.
