Not an A-Body either but mine is an E-Body. As mentoned can't get any closer to weld around or get the trim piece back on.

Here's my version, any tighter and I couldn't get the screws back in the trim. I probably had the a pillar tube in and out of the car twenty times to get the dash pad the way I wanted it. I had to weld it in with a pencil torch. That is SUPER NICE... now I'll ask... where is the slit in the dash pad or did you use that vinyl repair to hide it... looks super nice... I think the best I ever seen Dave I like how you molded in the dash to the bar ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

There is no slit in the dash pad, the tubes went straight down through the windshield opening, through the dashpad and dash, and then were rotated into the halo. Lots and lots of test fitting and meticulous notching and trimming. It took alot of patience but I knew how I wanted it and would except nothing less.
LOL... you have WAY MORE patience than me.... like I said thats the best I ever seen...... VERY NICE... but I built my chassis(full tube chassis) then set the body on... then added the dash ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

Jb Im very glad you posted that pic along with the fact that you had that one bar in and out of the car so many times. All guys want that nice of a fit but think that you should be able to do it in 1 try. And flip out when you tell them what it will cost. Quality work cost. Very nice work by the way!
OK I'll bite. How much to do 68 Dart in moly (8.50 Cert) with swing out door bars? The car is stripped to a bare shell at present

after seeing how Jody did his, i see that mine is a train wreck.
I guess train wreck would be a pretty fair description of mine as well. It showed me that things like that should be left up to professionals with the patience of a saint.... and am very happy that most of my handiwork is covered up and hidden from sight.
