I dig it!!!!! Glad to know the lower end will take that kind of abuse. I'm waiting for my 383 to kick a rod out or break a piston, and I'm only at 12 lbs. Maybe it'll never happen.

are those custom headers? They look like shorty's. I'd like to do a turbo set-up like that one of these days. Does all that clear the factory k-frame. Looks sort of like this SB set-up.
I would love to see a pic of the other side of that engine, looks like an "easy" fit in an abody.
sorry found it online. I'm guessing they are shorty headers looks like straight pipe down and under the k-frame over to pass side.

Turbo is a Ebay GT45 y2004k, Ebay 53mm BOV and 60mm waste gate.
Its like a 69mm 105AR exhaust, I have 4-5 years on it now with no problems what so ever.... And we are not nice to it at all!!!
Engine is BONE stock 1968 383 never been apart except for. 280/480 comp juice cam, used one I had laying around double roller chain chrome timing cover lol High volume oil pump And a Torker 383 intake with new valley pan cause the old one was rusted out.
Carb i did myself, it runs on E85
3500 10" stall, colum shift.... I just leave it in drive!!!
3.91 gear witch I will be swapping for 3.23 soon
29x10 Slicks
High 10s @ around 120 so far but fuel system cant keep up so no full power passes yet.
should run low 10s to high 9s @ 130s once fuel seystem keeps up
BTW!!! car is FUN to drive !!!! layer on the wood and let the Turbo do the talkin LOL !!!!!
thank you for building this!you must have done this in a secret location away from the moparts gestapo.at the minemum for boost you need pistons from some sort of metal that came from a meteor, aftermarket block, the newest of heads that JUST got developed and then sent to some wichdoctor for porting ect,ect and if all this fails they would tell you to turbo a stock LS1

would spend a little more money and get a master power or a borg warner. Those turbos are cheap for a reason
I hear what your saying about those chinese turbos, but check out theturboforums.com. They have a thread about the gt45 that a bunch of guys are using and seems to hold up and make power.
I agree 100%. If others are having luck i guess its worth a try. I got lucky and picked up a new s480 from a buddy for peanuts. glad to see that there will be other turbo mopars out to play with.

Exactly! The reason turbo Mopars arent more predominant is simply because people dont build them.
Mopar to the bone!!!
