I ordered a new rubber floor instead of the usual carpet for my 71 Demon. Has anyone on here installed one of these in their car before? Advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

I installed some in my Duster. It is pretty straight forward like installing carpet. Leave it out in the sun so it is pliable, and a heat gun helps. Put the seat belt bolts etc in and use that as the template to cut slice the holes. Make sure you trim a little at the time so you don't go too short, and the dimmer switch should be just a sloppy hole cut, no grommet was used originally. And when you have it in, use floor mats because it is super slippery!

Watch closely for condensation & water under the rubber flooring. Remember how those "rubber" trunk mats led to the obliteration of many a trunk.

Is it a 4 speed?

I have installed two of them in the same car and mine is a 4 speed B body The mate was heat formed for the 4 speed hump.

The first mat I ordered was too short when installed to fit under the door sill trim. Had to order another that was NOT side trimmed.

The second on when I fitted it to this heat formed hump it does not go far enough up the floor pan under the dash and the painted floor shows.

If I have to order a third I will ask for it untrimmed for the length also so it is long enough up under the dash.

Yes, it is a 4 speed car. I was wondering what it takes to get them to look nice in a car. I have always liked the rubber mat in cars!

ACC is the only place I could find that makes it and they don't advertise it. Order it through Dante and let him know of the concerns I mentioned and have him order it untrimmed with extra length so the painte floor doesn't show under the dash.

You MUST start at the 4 speed hump since it is heat formed to it and everything else has to be what it is so make sure you have enough material to fit side to side front to back.

The main thing I found was to install it as soon as you can. I made the mistake of laying it flat and life happened for a couple months. The rubber hardened up and was very hard conform to the floor. Otherwise, the rubber was a great match!

Hey guys, I installed my floor mat tonite and with the help of a heat gun it went great. I just took my time and worked everything in and made release cuts where needed. It is a great match to the original material too.
