We will find out in march as our first trip to the track is march 13th. With all of the r&d it will cast about 70,000 . I am guessing the next one will be around 45,000 or less. There are only a few parts that have price adders that total about 4000 more than any quality build.

We have used the same dyno as our engines, so I think the number will be in line. This motors is still almost 100 more than any mopoar Best has ever built.

Now I see nmca has a heads up NA 10.50 tire class. That will be interesting to see if a mopar can compete.

I gotta say.....

That a conventional (not prostock) HEMI head around 650ci can sniff the 1400hp range is mighty impressive.

Especially without the typical SS/AH tricks a dry sump and no R & D compared to all the other engines of ANY make at this power level.

Let's see how it runs first. That's the real dyno, and I suspect that motor was uber expensive......like in the $55,000+ range.

I understand that, completely.

Ummmm, They do and one does Criminy we finished second in the PSCA, with rules very similar to NMCA(now almost identical)is that not competitive enough?? Only went to one NMCA race and qualified 4th out of 11 cars. Qualified 7th out of 14 at SCSN.

The class is Pro Stock or now 10.5NA and not sure you will fit the rules. BUt with that bog of a motor you will be carrying a LOT Of weight. I'm already about the heaviest car with my little 499" motor. If you want to win in that class in the midwest count on 8.0's maybe even 7's this year. Now that they have made and allow the 5 speeds in. Many of them have already been in the 7's.

Our present superstock car fits the rules I think. We have been 8.29 with our old wedge. The new motor was dynoed on the same dyno as the wedge and we made 100 more hp than last years motor . We will have to run 100 lbs heavier than last year and lose 20 ci. I think this might be a good venue for the new motor.

Well we just finished the first 4.84 bore space hemi for a good customer of ours. What a lot of work this one was. 4.566 bore, 5" crank, Stage 5 heads, Indy block and a lot of one off parts. Will be on the dyno next week.

Who makes these valve covers and how much? I'm sure they are in the $1000 plus range.

We made our final dyno session today. We went the wrong way and lost 13 hp. The good news is we had a good motor when we finished. We are going to FL. next week and race a little. I april we are going to GA. They will dismantle it in may try a little more r&d shorten the stroke a 1/4 inch.and try it again.

Thanks for everyones interest.

We have finally made it to the track. To dat we have been 8.47 with small carbs and part throttle. The motor is rock solid including the valve train. The only failure was the vac pickup which will not work in a wet sump motor. On heavy braking it turns into a hyd pump and that was not pretty. Qualified number 4 at bradenton. Racing tomorrow

No full throttle passes. I am putting the large carbs back on this week. I hope to get to the track in IN within the next 2 weeks.
