The seats that were originaly installed were steel seats and the are eating up the valve face. WE are putting in non ferris seats and lowering the spring pressure. We are running a Ti valves.

We are putting the engine a 68 barracuda , very much like an A/H car but on small tires. When the debug is done it is possible it will go in the new car we are building which is another 10.50 tire car , but will only weigh 2500 lbs that will be used for local small tire racing.I think there is another 50 hp in this motor.

What was the spring pressure if you dont mind me asking. Just trying to compare a bit with my 4.840 TS engine and my new Hemi

500+ on the seat and 1300+ over the nose.I think the high pressures also contributed the rocker problems we had and robbed us of a little hp.

Was there a specific reason you opted for the Stage V rockers vs the T & D, or Jesel individual shaft style???

WE are chevy bore spacing nobody builds any thing for this. The stage V rockers we are using are the same ones used on the Brad anderson top alchol motors. the only change we made to them is this time we tilted the adjuster screw 10 degrees to put it in compression instead of yeld . Should be 4 times stronger. With the cam change I think we will really like this thing after the trip to the dyno.

I have already talked to t&d and they have agreed to build us a rocker system for this motor but it will take 6 weeks. they will have to wait for the next motor.

Mike - can't wait to see that thing run this year.

Remember in 2009 we were both in the NSS/A class in St Louis and we ran each other for class. Well I'm just a tad faster now but no where near you!!! Hope all goes well with the new combo and looking forward to see the "other car " too.

Max, that was the first race Michael ever won. There has been enough lobbying against this motor they have already written a rule to make this motor illegal for nss racing. We have asked for a 2 race waiver to give us time to modified it for the new rules, as they just posted the new rule last week and we race in March.I would like to make the change during the 2 month break in may and june.

Our TS engine with a 60mm cam with around an inch lift ran 385 seat@2.200 and 1110 open.

For our 5 inch Hemi it's 525 seat @ 2.300 and open 1315.(pac-1351H) Of coarse the hemi Cam is a completely different animal of a cam compared to the TS one.

Since when do they allow Dominators in NSS racing?

We have another manifold top with 4150's. They outlawed the dist drive. But there are several orgs that allow 4500 carbs.

the dyno sheets went to the new owner but if my memory serves me right peak hp was at 7400 and torque was low 6000.

That cam was similar to our's and the hp was about the same but our tq was 6900. I could not read your intake duration, but our lobe centers were 2 degrees more 118.

I gotta say.....

That a conventional (not prostock) HEMI head around 650ci can sniff the 1400hp range is mighty impressive.

Especially without the typical SS/AH tricks a dry sump and no R & D compared to all the other engines of ANY make at this power level.

Let's see how it runs first. That's the real dyno, and I suspect that motor was uber expensive......like in the $55,000+ range.
