Didn't you see his post above giving the weight of the alum 6 pk manifold and a cast iron 4bbl ?
He was guessing at the weight of the aluminum intake. I don't want a guess. I can do that myself.

I'm going to ask a real STUPID question ... why does it matter ? If the iron weighs only 10 lbs more are you going to trade the alum. one for an iron one ? The iron one is not correct for 69 ... if that matters ....
You're right. It is a stupid question. I guess you've never asked a question whose answer didn't really matter.
It doesn't matter, really. I just want to know. It's called education.
If you took all the questions on this forum that really don't matter, you'd have half the number of questions.

It might have been a stupid question but it's not as stupid as your pisspoor attitude toward someone that gave you the actual weight on the alum intake .
Here i found your answer , goole search tab at the top of the page , intake weight in the search ...
intake weight
And it looks like BSB67 memory is a little foggy from 2010 because he said then the alum was 22.6 ?????
Oh man, two ooops in one thread. Pulled the records, 22.6 lbs. it is. I don't know the accuracy as I don't remember which scale I used back then. Probably the bathroom scale. Three significant figures at 10% full scale is probably asking a little much.

Then why did he state he was just guessing?
There's always someone who reverts to personal insults. I could now throw some insults your way but that's not my bag. I prefer to keep my discussions impersonal and factual - not personal and guesses. But thanks for the weight of the cast iron intake.
BSB67, thank you for the confirmation of the weight of the aluminum intake.

At least to most, it was obviously sarcasm, in response to you calling my 22 lb for intake and 18-20 lbs for the carbs BS all the while you having no data to the contrary.
When I share an opinion I present it as such.

I was spot on with my ASSessmnt of your response, but I did think better of it and removed the adjective as it was uncalled for ... much like your reply to BSB67 ... but someone quoted me before I was able to edit . oh well , you'll get over it ...

Well unfortunately, unlike most, I am not a mind reader. If you answer questions with sarcasm, then perhaps you should not answer it at all. I was seeking facts, not sarcasm.
As for me calling your quote BS, if you read the post carefully, I did no such thing. If you call questioning one of your answers BS, then you are greater than all of us... at least in your own mind.
I opened this thread seeking facts. I was answered with some that were helpful. But then I was also answered with insults and sarcasm. Not what I expected on a board of this caliber.
There obviously seems like there is no end to this nonsense. So, being the better man, you can call me what you want, accuse me of what you want but this is my last statement on this matter.

I can tell you this, based on my small block:
complete aluminum 6-pack setup, including factory t/a airclnr is 60 lbs.
edlbrk ld340, holley 3310, ~15" airclnr is 30lbs.
i like the 6-pack and its power/performance, but the frontend weight saving of 30lbs favors the eldbrk/750 setup ... (improved handling intentions spoken of here).

Are we sure there isn't a significant weight difference between '70 model carbs and those from '69? Did the carbs have equal amounts of gas in them???
Seriously, nice work Jess!
