With all due respect, I sure hope not.

I'm curious too, need a spot for the big gulp!
What about a hole in the top plate?

Cup holders are for minivans. I do it the old fashioned way and spill my coffee in my lap while I drive.

I haven't seen one for an E-body.

But E-bodies have a large flat area between the shifter and console door. I've seen many woodgrain inserts stained from someone putting a drink there.

I think I've seen can holder that are weight and/or have straps on them. Maybe you could place one of the flat woodgrain of the console and have straps with velcro to hold it down so you can remove easy.

When I was driving across country in my 68 Barracuda, I unbolted the ashtray and hot glued a square plastic tupperware cup under the square opening. It fits a soda can with a koozie/can cooler.

The hot glue can be broken off the chrome and you can later re-bolt on the ash tray and sliding door assembly and not permanently alter anything.

With some more effort I could have left the sliding ash tray door on and you would never know it was a cup holder with the door closed.

I'm thinking a weighted soft rubber/cloth/plastic cupholder that had two elastic straps that would rap around your chrome console insert and have velcro attachment to the cupholder so you could remove it.

I couldn't find one on the internet with some quick searching. You probably would have to find something that had some of those elements, then make the rest.

Sort of like combining these pictures

Leave that E body alone! Go buy a Ford something or other and rip it up. But if you must have a cup holder, here's one for cheap money (.95). Easy install, easy remove.

Our E-body has a cup holder. It's the person in the passenger seat.

Ha, exactly! But is there room to adapt a single spot with the shifter still there? Easy enough to cut a hole in the top plate, heck you could even fix it later if you wanted, with a simple patch and new overlay.

Remove the console door and make an insert. You could prob. fit two cup holders in that space. I'd make it out of wood

As a full on coffee addict with a E-body that gets alot of miles on it, I had the same question. The top plate of my console was junk anyway (and still is) so I cut a coffee cup sized hole in the top of it behind the shifter. It works really well for day to day use, but isn't deep enough if I get aggressive in the twisties. It works fine for commuting and cruising though. I'll get a pic at some point and add it to this thread.

Would love to see a pic.

Rather than just cutting a hole, what about grafting in a container?
This would add depth for more hold?
