I myself have a smaller cube engine than you, I do have 1 headlight and tail lights if you want to do a heads up. It's all in fun.

Alan I'll race your 2600lb B1 engine Dart in your sig with my 3400+lb 1 barrel engine at carlisle quartes aces this year (1/8 mile) / heads up! Not for fun though gotta bet something like dinner or tools or whatever

That will be great. But if I bring Don's car to, He will have to be run on Handi Cap dial in You know his last pass there was a 21 second pass Just us all being there will be a fun time. I know you may juice it now, you will need it

it`s my money and my car and if you REALLY want to race me I`ll make it happen if you meet me half way........NO JOKE.......... I accep as long as we can meet in the middle...............you better tune her up.........

Im the dis-advantaged one... all people see is cubes... I'm much heavier than you, you have a 4 barrel and I have a 1 barrel, you run a magna fuel superstar 500 pump and I have lil ole aeromotive 150 gph deal... My engine only cranks at 170 and your is prolly in the 200's... my junk is also setup for nitrous that is why it is such a dud.... NA pump gas is getting ghey so I have been planning ahead

what do you consider the middle

oh and for the people wanting tech you can run 9's on local 93 and only crank at 170 yes it is possible... at 170 it barely starts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Th0RDZXuUHA

Where do you live then we can figure middle and already the excuses are rollin in..........set up for nos? Dissadvantage 572 cubes.....too funny. Oh, my motor cranks bet. 170-180 and runs fine on 91 Cally junk just don`t race it that way.

In Canada we pay for race gas at the pump; and all we get is a choice of 87, 89, and 91 octane. E85 is made in a plant 42 miles away from me. It is also available there for sale; not locally. I have had enough real racing gas go bad in short amount of times whenever I have tried to buy in bulk and store it.

I have race engines that are not practical for the life I have chosen, (retired). So everything is scaled back so that I can stay retired. Being retired has become a full time job, and there is no life like it.

I am truly happy that the American way of life is still working for you guys, and that race gas is available and affordable. Race gas is my first choice when all things are equal.

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

I don't get why would you need it? Thumper needs it I don't ! I roll on street gas ! Race gas is for race cars!

You're doing it wrong! Race gas and slicks for the street when you're running the car on the bottle. Treaded tires and Pump Gas for the track to race in the "Street" classes.

Ive personally seen Doms car a few times, once at irwindale and once at Fontana. It looks just fine by me and runs damn good for what it is. Take all those pennies off the dash and itll pick up a little

Who cares what fuel someone runs, as long as it does what they want it to do its alright by me

Looks like I will end up running a 110/93 50% mix....we ended up with a wee-bit more compression than I initially wanted....but sure sounds great

Here's another way to look at it...like someone already said, you can get race gas around $6.85/gallon....I use straight Av-Gas in all my own cars which runs about $1.00 more per gallon than 91 octane, so I'm paying about $4.50/gallon...91 octane is about 3.20/gallon here...

It's commonly known that more compression equals more efficiency which equals better fuel mileage...Having said that, if your pump gas car gets 8 miles/gallon and mine gets 14 miles/gallon, after 2,000 miles of driving you've spent $800 and I've spent $642 on Av-Gas....and I could run real race gas and still would only cost me $978, which is only $180 with 2,000 miles of driving AND with everything else being equal I made more power because I can run more camshaft when running higher compression....

People always look at JUST what race gas costs per gallon when they really should be looking at the whole picture...

You can make the very same argument for E85, run about 4 points higher compression than you can on 91 octane. In my experience you get about 4 percent more efficiency for a point of compression, if you do bump it up from 9 to one to 13 to one you could get 16% more MPG, more than enough to compensate for the lower energy content, it smells better and is cheaper than even 87 octane and yes your engine WILL make more power.

As for the reason some people are infatuated with pump gas, maybe it is because some of us were raised on low budgets and can not afford the finer things in life, or because were raised to be frugal either because we had budget minded or broke parents while we were kids, now we are all grown up and still have that mentality even if we can afford the double or triple price that race gas typically costs. Also some of us do drive our street cars on the street in real life (not just a local show on a sunny nice day) and may need to be sure fuel is available for us.

Thank you...........and as soon as my cars done, I`ll post when I get back there for my low 6`s and a friendly "get the hell out of here" so maybe this time we can officially meet. And the pennies will be removed when I finish the dash.............anyone have a 1959 penny to send me?
