I just prayed for you. I was treated at the U of I a lifetime ago and they are some of the best. God will guide their hands and care for Owen and give you the strength you need. All you have to do is ask him. Trust me when I say that.... God Bless you and your family

Yes praying for your little guy! A friend of mine I worked with at my part time job use to live in Sioux city ia. He had a type of brain cancer I think 10+ years ago and is still cancer free. When he shaves his head and the hair starts to grow back in you can clearly see the scar where they took off his skull during the surgery. Reason I am telling you that is to hopefully give you hope. Believe in prayer and have faith it will be just a tiny speed bump in your life. Doug my friend is now a very passionate Christian. He believes the reason he is here to this day is by Gods grace and all the prayers. God does not give you more than you can handle. Trust in him and he will guide you.

I miss things from time to time. Do not think that I have forgotton you or your family. YES WE DO stand behind our members the good bad and the ugly I am living proof of that.

There are no words I can tell you to comfort you. There is no answer coming from Me. I can simply say that if you need to talk PM Me or have your wife PM Me and I will hand out My private number and just listen.

That is all I wanted when I lost My wee one. You have hope and that is a good start. I am in your corner. I got you.

Again, thanks everyone for the support. It mean more than you know. Owen has been having a better night. We got about four hours sleep which is 3 1/2 hours more then last night.

The doctors have him on steroids. He has some pretty violent rage episodes so they have him on a mild sedative. That really does a good job of taking the edge off.

Today is going to be very long. Doctors have another small child to opperate on right away in the morning. Owen is next in line. They are thinking maybe around noon. That means it will be 1 or 2. They say it will take about 6 hours...so it will probably be more like 8 to 10.

Darren - y'all are still in our prayers. Please post updates this afternoon/evening as often as you can. Don't know about anyone else but I check this thread every couple hours daily.

Best of luck for your son. I pray everything turns out fine.

They just took Owen into the opperating room. I'm not sure how long it will be. THey keep saying different lengths of time.

Instead of waiting in the PICU where it's quiet, they have us crammed into a small waiting room filled with other people. Stupid!

I gave Owen a big kiss and asked him how much he loved me. He opened up his arms as wide as they would go. Then I asked him if he knew how much I loved him. Again, he opened up his arms as wide as they would go.

People here are with you in spirit. Lets hope for wonderful news.

All will be good God watch over him and the doctors! Guide them all in this time of need. Stay strong Darren.
