Finally a HUSKER again
I am building a 400 for a customer, I have the bottom end and heads on it, have had that done for months, waited for a Cam from Howards for 4 months. Hydro roller, fairly small, for a driver. Looks great, but the cam bearing journals arent grooved like some other flat tappet cams Ive seen. Ive read on here that you can cut a groove in the cam with a side grinder and a thin wheel. Is it worth it on a low HP daily driver to go through this work?

Thanks

I agree with Dan.
I have around 15 cams for Mopar in the shop and not one of them is grooved.
On a sidenote, I ordered a custom grind from Howard's this summer and had it in 2 weeks, they must be a lot busier now?
