Will a pure stock SRT8 go 12.6@114?

6.1? No. 6.4? Yep. Some on Challengertalk.com have gone 12-teens or better. M6 or A5?

I could see a 6.1 automatic getting there, of course depending on your definition of Pure Stock.

I was running as good as 13.28secs in my 2009 SRT-8 6-spd before I traded it. That's not saying much either as I had not been behind the wheel on a Track in years and suck trying to drag race a Manual. Don't forget the 105-108* Heat too.

Mine was 100% stock, The way it was driven off the showroom floor. Oil Change & Gas is all I ever did to it.

392 auto would do it pretty easy.manual would take some practice.a 6.1 would do it with some cheap low budget mods

100% wrong. Here are a few from the 392 timeslip sticky on Challengertalk.com. Some in there were modified, but I just went from 12.60 and down to the last stock ride. Can be done. Has been done. Repeatedly.

I think that car needs the driver mod, I haven't seen any automatics running that slow. 12.60 seems to be what they run with a newb behind the wheel, heat soaked from the drive there and a bad launch. With a more experienced approach they will run 12.2's / 12.3's

Here's a stock 6-speed running 12.40

There have been Chargers running 12.1 on stock rubber, cutting 1.7 60 foots.

My cousin has a '12 392 SRT 8 6 spd. His best so far is in the low 13/ high 12 range. I would like to think he is a good driver and there is not much to be gained without slicks. With slicks, I think it could be possible. Bone stock, with ZERO mods I would have to see it to believe it. I'm from Missouri, so you will have to "show me."

The reason I asked is that I ran (beat) an SRT8 Challenger at MIR and he ran 114 mph. I thought that was an impressive speed if it was stock. I never did find the car in the pits to check it out or talk to the owner. I heard later that he may have broke it!

Go to Challengertalk, look around. Sure some of them have videos. There's probably 7-8 I posted that are Challengers and stock. Automatics are faster, or at least easier to e.t.. Less torque management, from what I understand, too.
Don't know how else to 'show you'. Guess those 8 or so guys are lying since you haven't seen it??

I have 35 years of seat time, (not a newb here) bone stock with factory tires it just won't do it

There are quite a few guys with times posted and time slips to back it up that say you're wrong. But okay...

Has anyone considered elevation a factor?

There was an SRT8 auto at the last test n tune I was at. The DA was about 540 feet. I don't know if it was a 6.4 or 6.1. It had exhaust on it and drag radials and ran 13.30s all day long.

My guess is 6.1.

So would you say a stock 6.1 is a low 13 second car and a stock 6.4 is a real 12 second car?

The guys on the LX forum have turned low 12s repeatedly with the 6.4.......

BUT,,,they ALL run sticky tyres......

The cars all MPH real well.....

So the truth is that anything better than a high 12 needs sticky rubber and good air.

From what I have seen, yes. A 6.1 ran the last time I went to the track and ran a 13.68. Not sure if an auto or stick. But I ran a 13.78 in my 5.7 so Idk if he wasn't hooking or had issues or just didn't know how to drive it.
