has a frame mounted walbro pump and you can drive with very little in the tank without sucking air, works better than expected

20 seconds?
WAY too little to run an autocross, and a laugher to run a road course.
What's the purpose of the vehicle?
Alex and I have discussed this before.
To clarify- The '20 seconds' came from the discussion of how much reserve fuel an efi system would have in a corner, under full throttle, or in a threshold braking situation; pretty much if/when the pickup came uncovered (or when the area of the tank that the efi pump sits in becomes uncovered). Obviously different systems provide for this in different ways, and some tanks are designed so the pickup never comes uncovered (factory efi tanks). I know aftermarket tanks are designed with the same goal in mind, but may not be 100% when the fuel level goes below 1/4-1/2 a tank (no first hand experience).
Here's the math I did for my system:
I'm setting my system up with a 1 quart external accumulator tank.
Fuel consumption at different power levels (check my math): 300 hp x .5 BSFC = 150 lb/hr = 1575 cc/min = 1.65 quarts / min 600 hp x .5 BSFC = 300 lb/hr = 3150 cc/min = 3.3 quarts / min 900 hp x .5 BSFC = 450 lb/hr = 4725 cc/min = 5.0 quarts / min
So, if I uncover the factory pickup in a corner or a straight, I've got 'reserve' fuel for 300 hp: 36 seconds, 600 hp: 18 seconds, or 900 hp: 12 seconds.
My goal is ~600 hp, and I figure I'll never be full power in a corner.
My lift pump flows 100 gph (carter), and my efi pump flows 60+ gph (walbro gsl392). The carter should not have a problem 'catching up' in any event.
The 'ideal', as best I can tell, is something out of a road race car. A tank with an accumulator box built in with trap doors and a lift pump to feed it from a different corner as well. If someone made something like that for a reasonable price, I would buy it. My cheap set up will do just fine for what I'm doing, though.
