I prefer a Hurst Super Shifter III for an H-pattern unit There are many vendors that can hook you up with a new or re-man shifter but I like dealing with Jamie Passon at Passon Performance. Gus

His problem is that he has an automatic trans in a car with a 4-speed floor hump, so he cannot use a stock type floor shifter. You can use any aftermarket cable type shifter, that is the only way to go unless you use a column shifter but you will have to get all the linkage. If you change the column you will have to get one for manual steerring or power steering as the PS column is shorter.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

Thats correct, the car has an automatic trans in it. The car has a 4 speed hump, so I need to buy a shifter to work with that hump and the auto trans.

I have a new auto shifter I bought probally 40 years ago for my Auto Bee.It uses solid linkage not a cable. It has a flat plate that bolts to the floor.I bought it for the linkage for my Hurst auto shifter that was missing the steel linkage.Biggest problem is that there is no gate to show you what gear you are in.Looks just like a 4 speed when bolted to the floor. You can cut a piece of steel and bolt it to the hump and attach the shifter to it.Rocky

The shifter I have in the garage has a flange on the bottom.Bolts to the floor. Then the end sticks thru the floor and the linkage connects to it.I cant even remember who made it.Sitting on a 4 speed hump it would look just like a stick car.Rocky
