Here I'd a build I just did for a customer using his .040 over Speed pro bottom end. Edelbrock RPM heads with spring pressure corrected, non RPM Performer intake, 850 dp Holley,Hughes Whiplash cam,TTI1 3/4" headers,FireWire rtr distributor and coil. Not quote 500 hp(491 @ 5300). But torque was awesome . It did take a lot of fuel curve tuning to get the results, but 450/560 would pretty easy to get without it. Torque peak hit an unreal 578 and was over 500 from 2000 rpm,as low as I could pull it. Keith
Keith, am I missing something here, help me out please. Looking at he graph you posted, shouldn't the torque and horsepower curves cross at 5250 RPM ? They cross at 4400RPM. Sorry for being

Is there any way (reasonably) to achieve 500hp with a factory 4bl intake and HP manifolds?

build a 750 hp v8 motor then cut off two
Check your math dude.........750/2 = 375!!
Neither of you are correct...750/8 = 93.75...93.75x6 = 562.50

The way my dyno program lays out graphs, the horsepower and torque are on two different scales( the torque number is on one side, horsepower on the other). The hp and tq ate equal at 5250 rpm,its just that with them being scaled the way they are it looks different Hope I explained it well enough,it makes sense in my head Keith
I understand what you are pointing out. The graph on the right is different than on the left.
My dyno sheets from Line Performance read the same way. My Line built 440 was 10.5 Ross slugs with Ultradyne 590-613 solid. Stock bottom, nothing trick. 452 ported heads, bigger valves. M-1 with 825 Race Demon and MSD was making 590-600 HP range and TQ was around 540-550 all in by 5900 RPM and was out of breath at 6300. Ran on 92 and raced on B-32. I drove the low 11 sec car every day for years.
Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!
