something else was wrong like a vaccum leak. i would bet the offy is faster than the M1. I wouldn't sell it
Okay, you win. I'll give it another shot. If it goes slower than the M1 though you owe me a set of intake gaskets.
One thing to consider when swapping intakes and the results from that is to make sure that the both intakes are sealed properly(Especially non sealing BB Mopars ) and that you have wide open throttle on both set ups Every BB Mopar I have added more air, bigger carbs, more carbs, better intake manifolds, better camshafts and or better exhuast, all made the car at the track run faster and or on the engine dyno made more HP and torque I agree on retesting before selling that Offy, that or send it to me and I'll test it for you
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

It's been shown in tests that the M1 and Weiand are far better than the offy.
if you look at the test you speak off, it wasn't a fair test
I agree. The M1 and Weiand used 750 DPs. The Offy was stuck with Ed 500s.

and they had no jets/metering rods, so the Offy was pig rich something like 10.8:1

Did someone say "tunnel ram"?
lol, I made your posts for you
Thanks buddy! I'm not a genious, but i have run some tunnel rams. THE OFFY IS THE BEST for this combo! The runners are longer and smaller than the M1, which i believe will make more torque and power at a lower rpm. I have some offy's that have had a good bit of work done to them. i even have a top that has been cut open removing the divider, then welded back. Both styles have their advantages.

I loved my old M1, the custom Quickfuel 750's ran perfect right out of the box on the street and strip, went 9.80's at 3050# with a low deck 451, MCH CNC Eddy heads, and the old 590 purple shaft.

since we are both old timers on here, I seem to remember that you had eddie carbs and didn't pick up nearly what you thought you would after dropping the cash on those pretty carbs

I liked the QF carbs WAY better. The Eddy carbs ran the same mph, I just couldnt get them to 60' or 1/8 mile, not the carbs fault, it was probably me. The QF carbs idled perfect, footbraked to a 1.36 easily, and never needed adjusted. Current owner 60's at 1.33 with the Dartsport these days.

I couldn't even mash the peddle when I first bolt my eddie's on. I figured out some things with these carbs and really like them now

well i had a offy 360 ram on with two opened up 650s at around 774 and 776cfm. it had way too big of a cam 285@50 duration wise> ported 906 which the guy should of had his hands cut off not much compression 9.0 i think (a nother story of trims ) i ran better with that than anything else i tried on that engine. it did go faster for every bigger carb i put on the ported torquer intake but the offy was faster, reved faster etc. could dump it from a elivated idle to flash. the cars best was a 11.102@121mph that way. i still have it and a new m1 ram i have not used on the new engine combo with indy heads. i am sure it will go better than the m1 dominator setup now but for now i have not tryed them. maybe this year. what kind of gain would you guys guess for going from a 1050 to two 770s back then everyone said it will go faster with out that dam tunnelram. if i had 5 bucks for that every time wow. and it never ran as fast with out it on the old engine. it should make more torque sooner lower and the ram effect should help cylinder fill on top end when the cam signs off flow wise. has to be win win and look great also
