NO shifting in a pulling truck but we will gear to get it to rev between 8600-8900.

440 w/ light pistons, good rods & forged crank... shifting 6300 and going thru 1/4-mile traps at 6800-7000. These #s might go up a couple of hundred RPM w/ new rebuild, so I've switched from OEM crank to an aftermarket 4340 piece.

434 inch Hemi, cross ram, NASCAR rods, TRW pistons...shift at 6800, traps about he same. Use a 7K chip. I see no point in running it harder.

Likewise but i go through the line at 6700, if i shift much higher than 6300, the power drops off.

417 peaked 8200.....probably shift mid 8s.....it's geared to cross around 9k.

Always takes some runs to figure it out.
